Coaching with Unfold

Facilitated people evolution

Great organisational culture starts with great leaders. In today’s fast-changing business environment, strong leadership is essential for building a healthy, high-performing culture.

We see coaching as an opportunity to deepen self-awareness and provide proactive support for leaders who are invested in themselves and their teams. 1:1 leadership coaching provides a focused space for leaders to reflect, grow, and strengthen their impact. Our leadership coaching programs are designed to help the coachee:

  • Increase in self-awareness
  • Challenging unproductive patterns
  • Aligning personal values with organisational goals
  • Show up with greater clarity, confidence, and authenticity.

Our 1:1 coaching programs combine deep reflection with practical action to help leaders strengthen their leadership impact.

We believe that any impactful leadership change requires an internal shift in self-awareness. A structured and intentional coaching program provides the scaffolding to enable the transformation process.

We believe transformation begins within. When leaders understand themselves clearly and connect authentically with who they are, powerful change follows. Culture improves, teams strengthen and performance elevates.

authentically, everything changes.

Our coaching principles and methodology

Our coaching methodology is centred around three key steps:

  • Awareness – getting clear about context and overall leadership goals and understanding models and data where required
  • Acceptance – making sense of the current context and understanding how the behaviours present in day-to-day leadership
  • Action – setting clear From-To leadership shifts based that will directly impact leadership goals

We have internal goal-setting and action plan templates that participants will have access to during the coaching process. We’re very open to sharing resources, learning tools, and frameworks – wherever necessary and appropriate, we will share the right ones. These might be in the form of book recommendations, videos, white papers, worksheets, etc.

How do we involve the participant’s manager in the process (while still protecting confidentiality)?

We always encourage transparency and sharing of coaching goals and at the same time maintain our coaching ethics of confidentiality with each participant. We have three options for involving the manager, depending on the context, team and agreed outcomes:

  • A 30-minute check-in call with the manager prior to commencing the process
  • Participation in one of the coaching sessions (triad conversation for 30 minutes at the start of a coaching session – facilitated by the coach)
  • Homework for the participant to have a 1:1 with their manager between coaching sessions to share insights, observations, and goals.

How do we measure how insights from coaching have translated into behaviour change?

The coaching process usually spans over a 6-month period where we identify individual goals and actions and pay attention to accountability. After the session, the coachee is accountable for practising their agreed actions and challenging their assumptions through experiments.

At each coaching session, the coach checks in on progress, and a new cycle of awareness, acceptance, and action begins.

Further support for measuring change can include:

  • Being deliberate in how we align goals and shifts with internal performance review processes
  • Co-designing a measurement process with the leader
  • Using a surveying tool or stakeholder interview process at the conclusion of the coaching program.
